The classes below are open for registration. Click the type of course you are looking for and then select the class to complete the registration process. 

The AHA’s BLS (CPR) Course is designed for healthcare professionals including but not limited to EMTs, Paramedics, and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

Certified EMS providers are required to have a current Healthcare provider level CPR course per WREMAC requirements. The AHA BLS course meets this requirement. 

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

HeartCode BLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the BLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS Instructor. Once complete, a participant is issued a BLS Provider course completion card that is valid for 2 years. 

The target audiance for Heartcode BLS is Health Care Professionals and other personnel who need to know or recertify in CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in and out of hospital settings. Including, but not limited to EMS professionals, Firefighters, nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals. 

STEPS TO COMPLETE HEARTCODE BLS

  1. Purchase and complete the online portion of Heartcode BLS at https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls
    • Once you purchase the course, you will receive an email from the AHA on how to access the online part of your training                                                                                                                                                                                                 
  2. Register for your hands on skills session by clicking below and filling out the registration form. There is a $20 fee for the hands on portion that is due at the time of your skills session (fee is in addition to the cost of the online course from step 1). Cash & Check are accepted, Sorry, no credit cards.                                                                                                                                                                        
  3. Contact Catttaraugus County Office of Emergnecy Services at 716-938-2244 or by email at RFKuhn@cattco.org to schedule your hands on portion of the training. Skill sessions are typically scheduled during normal bussiness hours and are held at our office located at 303 Court St. Little Valley, NY. Appointments are required, no walk-ins will be accepted. Based on the students level of knowledge and comfort with the skills, the hands-on portion will take about a total of 60 -90 minutes.

Heartsaver CPR AED Course provides the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of CPR and how to use an AED. The course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community.The blended option offers scheduling flexibility.

Heartsaver CPR/AED Online is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the Heartsaver CPR/AED Course. Blended learning delivers quality first aid education regardless of where you are located and gives you more control to complete the course at their your own pace. You will first complete the online portion of Heartsaver CPR/AED online and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA  Instructor. Once complete, you will be issued a Heartsaver First Aid course completion card that is valid for 2 years. 

The target audiance for Heartsaver CPR/AED online is for anyone who is interested in learning skills in CPR and use of an AED. Heartsaver CPR/AED does not meet the NYS & WREMAC requirement for EMS Providers CPR certification. EMS providers must take a healthcare provider level course such as the AHA BLS Course.

The Heartsaver First Aid course trains participants first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. The blended option offers scheduling flexibility.

Blended learning delivers quality first aid education regardless of where you are located and gives you more control to complete the course at their your own pace. You will first complete the online portion of Heartsaver First Aid online and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA  Instructor. Once complete, you will be issued a Heartsaver First Aid course completion card that is valid for 2 years. 

The target audiance for Heartsaver First Aid online is for anyone who is interested in learning skills in First Aid. 

STEPS TO COMPLETE HEARTSAVER FIRST AID ONLINE

  1. Purchase and complete the online portion of Heartsaver CPR AED Online at https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartsaver-cpr-aed-online

Heartsaver CPR/AED does not meet the NYS & WREMAC requirement for EMS Providers CPR certification. EMS providers must take a healthcare provider level course such as the AHA BLS Course.

Heartsaver Pedatric First Aid CPR AED provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community. The course is intended for those involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnessness and injuries in a child or infant in the first few mintues until professional help arrives. 

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course. Blended learning delivers quality first aid and resuscitation education regardless of where you are located and gives you more control to complete the course at their your own pace. You will first complete the online portion of Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED online and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA  Instructor. Once complete, you will be issued a Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course completion card that is valid for 2 years. 

The target audiance for Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED online is for anyone with little or no medical training who are involved in childcare and have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in childern and who is interested in learning skills in basic first aid, CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
